Recipe by Nivetha Subramanian for Shastha Sunday Samayal


  1. 1 cup finger millet vermicelli (or multi-millet vermicelli
  2. 1/2 cup of mozzarella/ricotta cheese
  3. 4 tbsp butter
  4. Sugar syrup
  5. Ground pistachios


  1. Dry roast the vermicelli on the stove for 3-5 minutes (Optional)
  2. Add 2 table spoons of butter to the vermicelli and mix it gently using hands
  3. Divide the vermicelli into half and press one layer of it on the bottom of a greased bowl
  4. Add a layer of cheese
  5. Add the other half of the vermicelli on top of the cheese
  6. Bake for 15 minutes at 350C 
  7. Once cooled, pour sugar syrup over it and garnish it with pistachios
