As parents, Meghana Narayan and Shauravi Malik felt that there is a real shortage of tasty and truly healthy options to feed their children and realized that parents of other young children felt the same. The duo dug into recipes from Grandmothers kitchens and ingredients like Millets from their childhood and decided to embark on a journey to bring back these traditional ingredients back and make them tasty. And thus, Slurrp Farm was born in October, 2016, to provide healthy, yummy, and natural food for children.
Slurrp Farm has launched a new line-up of tasty, immunity-boosting, protein pancake mixes in two exciting flavors – Classic and Blueberry. Even better, the batter is organic with no maida or preservatives.
Shauravi, who has a master’s degree in economics from Cambridge University, and Meghana, who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, quit flourishing careers and chose to embark on their entrepreneurial journey. The duo, friends for a while now, identified the gap of healthy eating options in the children’s food market in India when they failed to find high-quality packaged food for their own children.
A powerhouse of nutrients, millets have the incredible property of being suitable for all age groups. Each of the millets has specific properties and they are a great source of protein, iron, calcium, magnesium; and they are gluten-free! Indian cuisines and our traditional superfoods have so much to offer,” shares co-founder Slurrp Farm, Shauravi Malik.
“We felt a need for innovative products related to children’s nutrition for ourselves and the market. And so we decided to enter this space category by category, targeting different age groups,” says Narayan.
