DESCRIPTION:The importance of sustainable and resilient food supply systems is widely acknowledged. Providing food and nutrient security to a growing global population and ensuring the livelihoods of millions of people working along the food supply chain\, whilst safeguarding the environment for future generations has never been more important. The Covid-19 pandemic has further emphasised the imperative for robust food systems\, capable of responding to shocks and disruptions. \nFood systems are complex\, with inter-relationships between agriculture\, the environment and consumers. Therefore\, the approach to food systems and food systems challenges needs to be holistic and interdisciplinary\, drawing upon natural\, social and physical sciences.
