SUMMARY:GCHERA World Agriculture Prize 2020 - Nominations Open
DESCRIPTION:The GCHERA WORLD AGRICULTURE PRIZE is the international award of the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for the Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA). The Prize aims to encourage the development of the mission of higher education institutions in education\, research\, innovation and outreach in the agricultural and life sciences by recognizing the distinguished contribution of individuals to this mission. Two 100\,000 USD prizes will be awarded in 2020 with at least one recipient coming from a country NOT classified as having a developed economy. See the list of those countries with a developed economy. \nThe prize was proposed by both Prof. ZHAI Huqu\, the former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) and Prof. ZHOU Guanghong\, the President of Nanjing Agricultural University (NJAU) and Chairman of Education Professional Committee (EPC)\, of the Chinese Association of Agricultural Science Societies (CAASS) on October 20\, 2012 in the occasion of NJAU’s 110th anniversary. It was approved at the GCHERA steering committee meeting in Uruguay on October 29\, 2012. The prize is generously sponsored by the Education Development Foundation of NJAU and Da Bei Nong Group\, the prizes are awarded annually. \nGCHERA has the mission to encourage mutual understanding and global co-operation among higher education associations and their constituent member institutions in supporting innovation\, and to provide within the global context\, leadership in education\, research and outreach in the agricultural and life sciences. \nTHE 2020 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS \nTwo World Agriculture Prizes will be awarded in 2020 each to an individual academic/faculty member from a higher education institution in recognition of the academic/faculty member’s life time achievements working in the disciplines relating to the agricultural and life sciences – including but not limited to agriculture\, forestry\, natural resources\, food\, bio-based products\, bioenergy\, rural development and the environment. At least one recipient will be from a country NOT classified as having a developed economy. See the list of those countries with a developed economy. \nEach nominee will demonstrate exceptional and significant achievement in his or her engagement in the mission of higher education institutions in education\, research\, innovation and outreach relating to the agricultural and life sciences. DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Development Commercialization of Indigenous Technology: Inviting Application for National Awards 2020 \nTechnology Development Board (TDB) is a statutory body of Department of Science & Technology (DST). As part of National Technology Day celebration on 11th May every year\, TDB presents following three Awards\, to industrial concerns who have successfully commercialized an indigenous technology. \nThe Technology Development Board (TDB)\, Department of Science and Technology\, Government of India provides financial assistance to Indian industrial concerns\, start-ups and SMEs attempting development and commercial application of indigenous technology\, or adapting imported technology to wider domestic applications. The objectives are to promote new ideas from small enterprises even at the risk of failures\, encourage production of competitive consumer products\, motivate industries and R&D institutions for product innovation\, develop socially relevant and profitable technologies\, identify and act in areas requiring strategic interventions and Invest in core technological strengths to enable Indian industry to stand-up to the competitive pressure and become a global player. \nOne (1) cash award of Rs. 25 lakh and a trophy to an industrial concern which has successfully developed & commercialized an indigenous technology. However\, in case the technology developer and commercializing organizations are different each one would be eligible for cash prize and a trophy. \nThree (3) cash awards of Rs. 15 lakh and a trophy each to a Micro\, Small and Medium Enterprise that have successfully commercialized a technology product based on indigenous technology. \nA cash award of Rs. 15 lakhs which was introduced for the first time for the F.Y. 2017-18 i.e. National Technology Start-up Award for promising new technology with potential for commercialization. \nPublishing of advertisement\, in National Daily Newspapers\, for inviting applications for awards is a yearly affair for TDB and as per practice in the past; it is advertised in the month of November every year. SUMMARY:Agri Clinic and Agribusiness Center
DESCRIPTION:AGRICLINICS AND AGRIBUSINESS CENTERS\nDepartment of Agriculture\, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare\, Government of India\nAgri-Clinics and Agri-Business centres Scheme was launched in April 2002 by Government of India with the objective to supplement the public extension system through committed private extension services at free or nominal cost by educated and trained candidates in a self employment mode\, by Extension Division of Department of Agriculture\, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC and FW)\, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare\, Government of India. There are two main components for the scheme: Training and Subsidy. \nNational Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE)\, Hyderabad\, provides training to Agricultural Graduates through Nodal Training Institutes (NTIs) under Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres Scheme (AC and ABC) for performing extension services. The trained candidates would establish business units under agricultural allied activities. \nSubsidy component is implemented through National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD)\, Mumbai. Trained candidates establishing agri-ventures availing credit facilities are extended with subsidy depending on their project\, gender\, social category and regional preferences. \nObjective of the ACABC Scheme\nThe main objective of this scheme is to promote the establishment of agricultural clinics and Agri Business Centers (ACABC) in the country. A plan has also been prepared by the government to promote agri business through which a person associated with farming or willing to join can take a loan of up to 20 lakh rupees. You can get this amount through Agri Clinic and Agri Business Center Scheme.
